A Marine's Special Salute

Yesterday, Ken, Lisa and George met Tim Meadows who is an active Marine that takes vacation to stand at attention in his dress blues saluting all the bikers riding in the Rolling Thunder parade.  The parade can take up to 6 hours.  Today, parade day, it was 90 degrees and humid in DC.

Here is Tim today honoring all those who have served.

  1. My name is Tim Chambers I am the saluting Marine. I came across your kind words and wanted to thank you and share this with you.

This is an excerpt from my book I am currently writing.

    The Veteran

A soul that serves, A hero unspoken, A life of loss, A promise unbroken,

    A burden, A favor, A memory, A Savior,

To give, To be taken, For what is right, and mistaken

    A heart, A vein, A Concious, A Brain,

Carries the load, Orders are followed, A life of conscience, The inner is hollowed,

A number, A stat, A body, An Act

Built to be Strong, Die if Weak, Trained to Kill, Not allowed to speak,

    A survivor, A Mission, A loss, A vision

Did your job, lost a friend, Survivors Guilt, Until the end,
